Major surgery
Temporo-mandibular
joint surgery (TMJ)
This joint, as is the case with the knee joint, may suffer from inflammation, dislocation, arthrosis, arthritis, meniscal damage, fractures and other pathologies. While a conservative treatment is usually suggested (soft food diet, anti-inflammatories, ice, physiotherapy), a surgical intervention may be required (infiltration, cleaning of the joint, arthroplasty, insertion of a metal prosthesis).
